Jeffrey’s recites a biography of Mason's influence and contributions written by historian and authority Robert Carter Pittman that was originally published in the Autograph Collector’s Journal, Spring Convention Edition.

In the early 1940’s, Pittman began collecting originals and copies of letters, manuscripts and holographs by, or relative to, George Mason of Virginia, author of the Virginia Declaration of Rights, June 12 1776, and the Virginia Constitution of the same year—from which our U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights was derived.
